Q: Someone told me my “browser” was outdated. What does that mean?
Attention Internet Explorer 6 Users, it's time to upgrade!
IE6 may work just fine for you, however, using this outdated browser is putting your computer, your data and your privacy at risk. IE6 has many well-documented security risks and holes. Microsoft stopped developing this browser in 2006 (4 years ago… which makes it a dinosaur in tech years!) and has since replaced it with Internet Explorer 8, which is much more secure.
If you are surfing the internet with IE6 you greatly increase your risk of exposing your personal data. Upgrade to IE8 now.
Not sure what version of IE you are using? Open your browser window, select Help from the main tool bar, then About Internet Explorer.
